This seven generation saga of Campbell lore tells of (1) Sir Duncan’s ill-fated command at Inverlochy, (2) William’s exploits as a cavalry officer and aide to King Charles II, (3) Gill’s participation in Argyll’s ill-fated revolt and heroic defense of Londonderry, (4) Sam’s life as a fur trader and army scout, (5) Joel’s war ridden years along the Mohawk, (6) Johnny’s expulsion from his farm by land speculators, and (7) Jonathan’s westward move to Nauvoo, march with the Mormon Battalion to California, and discovery of gold.
