Abstract:
This epic story is told in a compelling form, enlivened by plot twists that make the four turbulent decades before and during America’s founding entertaining. Some small events cause the end results to be much different than one might expect.

Twin brothers arrive from England and eventually prosper, one as a Virginia planter, the other as a Philadelphia newspaper publisher. A slave arrives from Africa. These three, and their wives, lovers, and children help to shape the new American republic—all seen through their perspective and interactions with historical characters. This is the story of the threats to achieving freedom.
