What is the Meaning of Life?
To be beat down, criticized, punished and live with regret and guilt all of our days?
No. There is another way – a positive, self fulfilling way. I am going to share that way with you.
Life is more than we give it credit to be and yet too many of us live within a shell of fear and anxiety. We walk the halls of our life flinching from the slightest sound which echoes within our minds, on and on, and on. We fight against it, we try to be strong and we try to walk tall. We try to show confidence and strength. We go day to day wearing the mask of life as strong courageous human beings. But why does it have to be a mask, why does it have to hurt so much, why can’t we just be understood and accepted for who we are? Why do others try to hurt us and tear us down? Why do we want to give up and yet still continue?
I know this all too well, I have lived most of my life wearing a mask. No, I am not a doctor, therapist or a coach. I am someone who has been there and done that. I have lived through, survived and overcome Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Depression and Attention Deficit Disorder.
When you change for the better, more positive, confident you, and I believe you will, expect resistance, but resistance is futile. When you are down and vulnerable a certain type of people are attracted to you. Some will want to help you, but there are too many who will try to use you and keep you right where you are, or worse, they will try to drive you lower and make you more controllable. Some people just want to feel better about themselves too and they will use you, to look down on you and manipulate you just so they can feel stronger. It’s wrong and yet it is reality. It is important to be aware of this – I do not see this talked about in many books, but you will have to become your own person and choose your friends wisely. When you are more positive and self assured those so called friends who have used you will try to resist your change and try to make you resist it too, but once your improvement has started all this does is make those who don’t want you to get better become more obvious to you.
Become your True Self
When you step out of your shell and into the sunshine, you become the real you, the whole you, as intended by nature. It is not nature’s intention to create sad, pessimistic and depressed people. Nature is beauty, nature is love, nature is caring and nature is within you and within me – all of us. To be depressed, hurt and used is against the very foundation of nature. Life is to live. Life is to love and be loved. Life is to create; after all, you are a creation of nature.
The most important person on earth is within you! You must take care of yourself in order to be nurturing for others and supportive of others. Caring for yourself, loving yourself and being yourself is paramount to all existence. I am not talking about being selfish or egotistical. I am talking about becoming whole and secure in your own present form on earth. It doesn’t matter what you look like, what color you are or where you are from. All that matters is what you think of yourself and what you do with those thoughts. Our thoughts lead the way and create our future and affect those around us. There is a lot more to it than simply selfish reasons. If anyone tells you that your path to a more positive you is selfish, then I believe you are on the right path. It does indeed seem selfish once those who have used you and controlled you no longer have that power over you.
