Balance
Sometimes we must stop our study And leave the marble for the grass Take some time out in the forest And just be there with God at last.
Rejuvenation for the spirit Refreshment for out thirsty soul Too much time spent in the temple Like the marble, we grow cold.
Smell the roses, smell the pine Leave our earthly cares behind Take a hike – go on a picnic A solace for the heart and mind.
The Sabbath, it was made for man And not man for the Sabbath Day Go for a walk alone the seashore I believe that was the Master’s way.
Lately we’ve lost touch with nature I believe that is a sin I say go touch base with sunshine Find a balance deep within!
Unless I Become As a Child
Unless I become as a child I shall never enter in To the realms of heaven Where God is the light within.
I must be obedient And do what I ought to do I must owe my allegiance To the heart that is faithful and true.
I must be enthusiastic Like I was with my house in a tree Ready for adventure And courting calamity.
Heaven forbid that I become a man Whose god is silver and gold Experience will be my teacher As I walk down that mystical road.
I must return to the sea again Where I had fun in the sand I shall stand and get drenched indeed As the waves splash onto the land.
Yes, unless I become as a child And be playful of heart again God will not be pleased with me If my soul is older that ten!
