It was a warm summer night on a farm in rural Michigan and Nick had a problem. This man in his 60's, normally active, strong and healthy, was having a lot of trouble breathing and didn't know what to do. It was taking all the effort Nick had to simply breathe. He had a horrible, suffocating feeling, and was wondering if each breath would be his last. He was nearing the point of panic.
"What's happening to me?" he wondered. "Am I going to die?"
After a visit to the local emergency room along with some time and treatment, the infection that had made his breathing even worse that terrible night eventually went away. But the process of facing up to the condition of his lungs and learning what to do about it had just begun...
