Abstract:
Alan Tomas, premier seismologist, makes a disturbing dis-covery; the earth is about to experience an electromagnetic field reversal. He believes this will result in polar shifts to the equator and a corresponding movement of the crust thereby obliterating civilization. He collects physical evi-dence this is a periodic occurrence but no one believes him. He’s fired as a nutcase, he breaks with his wife, he’s ma-ligned by the media, and gulled by associates; an embittered man left to face the end alone, unaware his friends stole a spacecraft to join him. Also unaware a prostitute and crip-pled brother are stowaways.
