Abstract:
Cynthia Parker is born in Illinois and moves to Texas with her family. They built Fort Parker on the Navasota River for protection from the Texas Indians. Some of the people at the Fort are killing the Kiowa and Caddo on sight. They steal their horses or trade but pay them in bad money. Chief Satank of the Kiowa calls a council meeting and asks all the Comanche Chiefs to attend.

CHIEF IRON SHIRT of the Noconis attends the council and is chosen to lead the raid on Fort Parker. When Iron Shirt kills Benjamin Parker, which is a signal, the Indians pour through the gate killing the men and capturing the women. The Caddoe capture ELIZABETH KELLOGG, Yamparikas Comanche capture RACHEL PLUMMER, Comanche Kotsatekas capture JAMES PLATT, Noconis Comanche capture CYNTHIA ANN, and Quahadas Comanche capture JOHN PARKER,

JAMES PARKER leads a group of survivors across the Navasota River, hiding them in dense briers. Returning back towards the Fort, he meets Frost with her four children. James' group now numbers six adults and twelve children. James starts leading his group south to Tinnin's Settlement ninety miles away, they arrived tired, hungry, and worn out. The other survivors were hiding south of Fort on the East sided of the River.
