A historical novel based on a young girl’s first love. Disgraced and disowned by her family, she is taken far from home and left standing on the side of the road

Abstract:
A historical novel, Jincey’s Rock: Lettie’s Journey, is a story about a young South Carolina girl, Lettie McClure, who back in the 1850's becomes pregnant by a married man. Disowned by her family, her heart is broken when her father whom she loves very much takes her miles from home and leaves her standing on the side of the road. She faces many obstacles on her long and perilous journey that ends in Montgomery, Alabama. Survival turns this immature young girl into a strong-willed woman. Lying about her past, she establishes a new life of respectability for herself. A few months after arriving in Montgomery, she marries a young man, Jeffrey Wilson, whom she truly loves and then faces the heartbreak of losing him to the devastation of the Civil War. Eventually Lettie’s life will come full circle and the shadow that has hung over her like a hidden ghost will be put to rest when she comes to terms with her secret past.
