Senior North Carolina citizen Madeline, divorced ten years earlier after 35 years of marriage; the female protagonist shares her Outer Banks home with her daughter and her son - a single mom. Madeline’s marriage ended after her spouse’s three-year mid-life crisis permanently moved to the Caribbean for a much younger native woman.
