Abstract:
When former bandleader and original owner Kenny Baker retired and passed the ownership over to his son, some things changed yet remained the same. The Abstract Griot attracted the crowd from nearby Howard University and became a haven for the hip-hop generation and spoken word set. Like a Griot, this collection of stories focuses on the fusion of lives that inhabit the Abstract Griot on a daily basis as Kenny Baker Jr. Prepares to celebrate the restaurant’s thirty-fifth anniversary.
