Abstract:
Society of One is a quirky tapestry of people and universal experiences, expressed through short fiction and poems. Employing both gritty realism and fantasy, these disparate pieces subtly weave and explore the secret life of children and adolescents, and their reflections in maturity. The author blends a kaleidoscope of humor and pathos, dreams and wakefulness, and the banality of life with its sublime revelation. These characters and events, though fictionalized, certainly exist in a kind of parallel universe in the mind and experience of all readers. Like a personal diary, these writings reveal the forgotten, and often the unexplainable, that lies dormant in everyone’s unconsciousness.
