Virginiae Blackmon is an author, award winning photojournalist, artist and teacher. She publishes scanning electron microscopy studies and medical reference-book articles. Virginiae travels extensively, does public speaking and exhibits photographs from her adventures. She spent a year traveling in Hawaii, Australia and New Zealand, two months in Costa Rica and writes of her experiences. She studied weaving with the Navajo. She writes articles on fiber arts and demonstrates the craft. She completed an anthology of adventure short stories and is writing the second and third in the series, and a mystery novel.

Traveling with her dad combined with attending Girl Scout Camp into high school years, grew into wanderlust, a love of nature and an enjoyment of exploring new things for this Grandma on the Loose. A nursing career strengthened her compassion. A lot of life spent with other cultures gives a perspective unique only to her. The reader will vicariously enjoy adventures and misadventures of canoeing and backpacking around Texas. One will experience run away horses at camp, death in the emergency room, navigating whitewater after dark and rock-climbing. She will captivate you with a sense of humor that is sassy and irreverent while tempered with maturity.
