With unexpected twists and turns, Anick Lavigne spins an explosive tale of ambition, greed, and sexual exploitation.

Abstract:
In the past, before laws were passed to protect children, child predators had free reign. They were attracted to children and acted freely on their attraction. Incapable of empathy, they were oblivious of the lives that were affected in the process. Out of decency, the news reports had held back, or only hinted at the kind of violations our children were submitted to without getting specific.

Then came the ’90s and ’00s, more outspoken times that lifted the shadows over the exact kinds of abuse the children were subjected to. No more such restraint. The veils were off; predators found themselves under the glaring light of justice, indeed, of the whole world.

A story that grabs you and holds you , 09/21/2008
Reviewer: Imelda
Lavigne's novel of a child's experience with a sexual predator and the aftermath was riveting. I stayed up all night reading it and the story lasted in my mind and my heart for a long time afterward. It is so well written. This is the kind of story that needs to be told and here it is told so well.

  Absolutely gripping! , 09/27/2008

A true page turner, full of heart and brimming with emotion. This book does more than share a story, it takes you into the life of the child. I was in tears by the end of the book. It is one thing to read about the sociological impact of sexual abuse and child predators in our society, and another experience altogether to step into this story and feel the story through the eyes of a child. Wonderfully told. It's a must read.
