Abstract:
In the past, before laws were passed to protect children, child predators had free reign. They were attracted to children and acted freely on their attraction. Incapable of empathy, they were oblivious of the lives that were affected in the process. Out of decency, the news reports had held back, or only hinted at the kind of violations our children were submitted to without getting specific.

Then came the ’90s and ’00s, more outspoken times that lifted the shadows over the exact kinds of abuse the children were subjected to. No more such restraint. The veils were off; predators found themselves under the glaring light of justice, indeed, of the whole world.
