Abstract:
In early 20th century Sicily, Sergio Barbieri suffers tragic losses that transform his life in ways he never expected. His most painful loss comes when Lucia, the love of his life marries his cousin Gino. Enraged when he learns of Lucia’s brutal murder, Sergio blames Gino, vowing to avenge her death.

The Implacable Sicilian, a fictional tale, unfolds in a background of intrigue and family connections. Don Guido Barbieri, Sergio’s papa is a man of honor, a capocosca in a small town near Palermo. Rivalry with a cosca near Bagheria foreshadows the dire beginning of tragic events.

Reviewer: Donna McCord
Once again, Geraldine Villalba has written a book that you will find difficult to put down. If you haven't read her first book, Addiu Bedda Sicilia: Goodbye, Beautiful Sicily, you must! But you can still read this second book and enjoy it by itself. Gino, the main character in the first book appears in this book too, but the main character this time is Sergio, his cousin. The thread that connects both books is based on actual events involving passion, love and unsolved murders. There are tantalizing clues along the way that will leave you guessing and wondering and drawing your own conclusions. I loved so many of the intriguing and unique characters in this book -- others made me angry and some made me laugh. Because it is based on truth, it is a passionate and moving story that I think would make a great movie!
