Abstract:
Armed with nothing more than the glowing promises of a college administrator, John packs his wife, children and dog into the family car and heads for a new life in Quincy. Whatever they expected when they left the urbanity of the Bay Area was not what they found waiting for them in the mountains of Northern California. Instead, it was one surprise, shock, crisis and disappointment after another.

Eventually he triumphed. These are the sometimes somber, often hilarious memoirs of a drama director in a small town, and a very small community college in Quincy – wherever the hell that is.
