Abstract:
The Fleurdelis is the symbol of the Franco-American group of immigrants from Canada.

Their folks had emigrated to Hersey, Mass., in the late 1800s, bringing all their worldly possessions and children. In those days the families were large and most were farmers who came to America to better themselves providing a better life for all. Between 1840 and 1930 roughly 900,000 French Canadians left Canada to immigrate to the United States. This important migration, which has now been largely forgotten in Quebec’s collective memory, is certainly one of the major events in Canadian demo-graphic history.
