Steve Dawson’s dream job becomes a nightmare when he is caught between the FBI and a renegade general determined to lead a private war against terror.

Abstract:
The tension rises in Guns and Miners, as Steve Dawson, new to eastern Kentucky’s colorful culture, stumbles into an arms smuggling conspiracy. Several trusted associates are conspiring with a renegade general to fight a private war against terror. The general’s brother, Kentucky’s governor, uses contacts within Dawson’s company to warehouse stolen arms underground. The FBI interrogates Dawson after a rifle is found onboard his corporate jet. Following a double assassination, he is dragged into the dangerous world of anti-terrorism. Plagued by the memory of a tragic failure in his youth, Steve fears paralysis will strike again. Dawson enlists the help of a beautiful reporter to engage the enemy.

Really enjoyed the book. It caught the flavor of the Eastern Ky mining community very well, and brings back some of my own experiences in the coal regions. Clearly the author has a deep respect and empathy for the folks in the area, as well as knowledge of mining in general.
