Abstract:
This is the story of the man who fired the first shot at Lexington – the shot that started the American War for Independence. Joshua Bowman, a long hunter from the borderlands, comes to Boston seeking revenge for the murder of his best friend – the man who saved his life. He meets Anne Gale Cranbrooke, a widow and former prostitute from London who came to America as an indentured servant. They each look for the peace and love their worlds have not allowed. In the end, they find their love only to see it become a casualty as the fight for liberty begins.
