This is an inspiring autobiography of a strong-willed woman who rose from a life of poverty and despair to one of fulfillment and happiness.

Abstract:
I was denied an education because I was made to stay at home and baby-sit my younger siblings. There were four girls and two boys. I was able to finish eighth grade, but when I started ninth grade, everyone else was 13 years old and I was 16. I was so far behind the others, I was teased and called a dummy. It was hard for me to learn, but I did learn to read, and I read everything I could get my hands on.

  Afantastic compelling read , 05/02/2011

This is the best book I have come across this year. It has something for everyone. I can just see Makin'Do on the screen as movie of the year. In my opinion this book rates right up there with John Stieinbeck's work, and should be a classic. I believe it will be.

I couldn't believe any person could endure so much and emerge with such grace and sweetness.
