Abstract:
First Century Rome witnessed the consolidation and final conquests of the Roman Empire. Daneh, daughter of Vilena the High Druid priestess of Britain, has captured the heart of Domitius Corbulo. Infatuated with her beauty, the young patrician general brings her to Rome to be his mistress. He places her within the care of his aristocratic aunt, Pomonia. But Corbulo's family frowns upon the liaison. Pomonia secures the promise of Catonius Merullus, the leading legalist of their day, to remove the girl from her nephew's life. But no one could foresee the outcome of her schemes.
