It was a time when the African Americans would not dare dream of ownership. It was a time when the African Americans were caught up in the after effects of slavery that left such a mark, it left the race without hope of recovery. You are about to read a story that will captivate you as you are drawn into the parallel world of Calvin and Hattie Suber, children of slaves that made a prepration to move to a place where they might be able to one day achieve independence for themselves, as well as their offspring.
