As a former history teacher, I bought this book for my grandson as a birthday present hoping it would get him interested in the past. Unfortunately, it wasn't worth the money I paid for it at all. The writing was very poor and although the premise sounded engaging, the plot was quite dull. I couldn't make it past the second chapter because the poor grammar and choppy sentences were just too frustrating for me. I can't imagine a younger audience being interested either since the book is so poorly written. Uncle Abe, Uncle Dunkle, and Me sounds like a good book, but it just simply isn't worth buying.
