Abstract:
In the late 1990s Americans flocked to The Big Bookstore in every town in every state. On any given night you could find people browsing the shelves, sipping their coffees.

Standing behind every counter, lost among the shelves were the booksellers that worked at The Big Bookstores. To most they were just drones with little green nametags. Behind that thin green line they’re so much more.

A novel in the form of an angry autobiography, these are stories of crazy customers, tragedies, romance among the staff, corporate buffoonery and what life was like behind The Thin Green Line.
