Frederick Baltz lives with his wife Cindy in Galena, Illinois, where he is pastor of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. They have four children. Long interested in the study of the New Testament and its history, Dr. Baltz decided to cast Herod’s story in the form of a novel so more people might discover it. Dr. Baltz has written other books as well ranging from the academic to the devotional. Within his church he has now become the Program Director for Bible Alive, a developing ecumenical Bible learning center for all ages.
