Jesse L. Byers was born in Norfolk, Virginia. He grew up poor and struggled for acceptance and survival in low income housing and inner city schools. Escaping the downward spiral of his surroundings he relocated to Los Angeles and held a variety of retail jobs before becoming an ordained minister and finally publishing his novels. He volunteered on local and presidential campaigns, even ran for office himself. These days he resides in the suburbs of L.A. and having left religion, writing and politics in the past he prefers to keep a low profile, maintain his library and live each day to the fullest.
