Jim Olsen is a retired forest ranger who has invested thirty years working for federal and state forestry. He has spent a life time living, working and playing in the wilds of the northwest. He was raised in the logging camps in northern California, worked in Idaho, Montana and Oregon and is retired from the California Department of Forestry. He is currently enjoying his retirement in northern California with Susan, his wife of forty nine years. Jim is writing for the pure joy of it and has published one book, The Camps of Clover Valley before getting interested in poetry.
