Rose Walker was born in the shadow of the Alamo (on Cinco de Mayo) and grew up on the edges of Spindletop. She earned a journalism degree from the University of Houston. It took nine years.

She has worked as an editor, feature writer, advertising representative, technical writer, ghost writer, trainer, collections agent and bookkeeper. Those roles often overlapped.

As grassroots volunteer (usually), consultant (occasionally), and candidate (twice), she has worked in more state, local and national political campaigns than she can count (but upwards of 40).

Rose and her husband live in the Heights neighborhood of Houston.
