A lifelong interest in police work led the author to Temple University’s Urban Archives where he spent ten years researching the subject. He interviewed many retired police officers from all ranks and pored over their personal mementos and photographs to craft this history of the Philadelphia Police Department. He is currently a member of the committee seeking to establish a police museum in Philadelphia.
