Abstract:
The text describes a course in the criticism of published biomedical literature conducted by the author and molecular biology colleague David A. Konkel in the graduate program of the Department of Human Biological Chemistry and Genetics at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston,TX, until the retirement of the author in 1996. The book is intended as a guide for those entering into present-day competitive biomedical research and for those designing a similar criticism course for their graduate students. Critical comments on modern biomedical research are provided, with multiple lessons gained from each topic.
