These superb ghost stories are subtle, witty, and menacing. Exceedingly well written, here are fourteen pieces of chilling literature to savor.

Abstract:
Fourteen delightfully original stories are variously whimsical, touching, and terrifying. These stories deal mainly with ghosts, but the occasional windigo, ghoul, wolf, or monster ensures the reader is in for a well-chilled spine. The gently eerie wit of some of the stories will appeal also to children, whose suspicion that having to cope with a monster under the bed, for example, or not knowing for sure who among us is a real ghost is scarier than grownups might admit. Readers who have not heard of Lansdowne will also enjoy discovering the idiosyncratic charm of an old town, and borough residents will have fun recognizing familiar landmarks.

an enjoyable and spirited book! , 03/31/2004
Reviewer: Geoffrey Berwind
Whether the reader hails from Lansdowne or anywhere else, Al Them's original ghost stories are a delightful and spooky read. He has a flair for description and good words and the imagination to create tantalizing tales from locales in this Victorian suburb of Philadelphia. You'll want to visit the real-life sites of which he writes! A great gift book for those interested in the spirit world, in small towns, in wry humor.
