The emergence of the global, connected economy and flatter corporate hierarchies has threatened, and continues to threaten your job. Job loss ranks with the death of a loved one, divorce, and kidnap as one of life’s most traumatic events. The emotional “flooding” that accompanies job loss is enormous. Many traumatic events lead to others. Relationships are strained. Interpersonal problems increase exponentially. In extreme cases illness and even death can follow the loss of a job. This book is designed to help you anticipate, absorb, manage, and emerge from the personal crisis that is job loss.

My wife and I read this book in the manuscript and was very excited about it. Jim is an outstanding writer and has provided a frank, compassionate, timely and effective book to help people in job crisis make it through. I so glad it is in print and available as corporations are laying off so many people. Jim provides a sure guide in surviving one of life's most horrible experiences. He knows what he's talking about and writes it in a way that is crystal clear. Read it before the crunch comes: to be forewarned is to be forarmed!
