  A clever mystery , 01/26/2008
Reviewer: Chris LaFontaine
I like Christina Brett's mysteries because they are fast-paced, with a clever plot, and the characters are human, every-day people that feel and react like the rest of us. I recommend this one if you want to spend time reading a story that will leave you smiling and wanting to read yet another one by this author that has the wit of Oscar Wilde, the sarcasm of Shaw, and the romanticism of Jane Austen. I love her books!

"Double Dealing" is GOOD!! , 01/31/2008

I read this book from the proof copy that Infinity sent Christina and HAD to send a review. I truly LOVED it! Now I'm getting my own copy. Not only the plot is very carefully planned, but all of the characters are very well portrayed. The heroine's conversations with her best friend and with her daughters is so real that you know it happens and it's not imagined. I have always admired Christina's way with dialogue - it has been proven in all of her other novels - and this one is no different. You chuckle at her wit, and one of my favorite parts is at the end when... (no, I am not going to tell you the ending)...the heroine is describing something and all of a sudden says "I kept thinking about Goldie Hawn"... and when you keep reading you just have to laugh out loud. Very well done! Loved every page! Juliette McIntire, Book Editor and Proof-reader

If you want to spend a few hours reading a very well plotted mystery, smiling and laughing out loud with the dialogue, and wishing you wouldn't have to see the last page too soon, then read this story. No wonder Christina Brett's second book - "Old Sins Cast Long Shadows" - was chosen to become a movie! It's one of those stories that one can't put down; I enjoyed every page and recommend it very highly! Elizabeth Semenza-Myers, Attorney-at-Law

It's hard to find a good book that you just can't seem to put down. From the moment I picked up Double Dealing, I couldn't put it down. I read the entire book, front to back, within one day. From the deceit, murder, mystery, and love stories all intertwined within one story.. How could you put it away? The way everyone at the police station couldn't put down Liz Bennetts books is the EXACT way i feel about Christina Brett's writing. She enables us to leave our dull lives and feel as if we're trying to solve the mystery ourselves. It feels good to be able to feel as if you can relate to the characters. Steph reminds me of the exact way my best friend acts. Besides, Lieutenant el cutie pie-o sounds like a lil heart throb. Read it. You'll be happy you did. =)

Just when you think you know the answers to the mystery... , 04/25/2008
Reviewer: Marc Barone
Eloquent, witty, and sensuous mystery writer Christina Brett drop-kicks your Agatha Christie skills into a direction you didn't see coming! This is a story that is both fascinating and fun and one that keeps you turning the pages even when you know it's way past your bedtime!!! Like the other books Christina Brett has so graciously and deftly delivered to her grateful readers, Double Dealing is a double-dose of intrigue and mystery (oh yeah, and SEXY!) that you won't soon forget!!! Write-on Christina!!!

  GREAT ENTERTAINMENT! , 04/26/2008
Reviewer: Nadia B. Patterson
I had the flu and one of my friends lent me "Double Dealing" telling me to read it if I wanted to forget I wasn't feeling well... That was the understatement of this century! That story is everything one can ask for, not only to GET better but also to FEEL great! Funny, with down to earth dialogue, descriptions that make you feel you are THERE with the characters...and a well constructed plot. Christina Brett cannot be compared with any other writer except maybe with Susan Isaacs, whose wit and intelligence surpasses even Dame Agatha. I will look for more of Brett's stories. I am sold to her way of writing! Nadia B. Patterson, Attorney-at-Law

Reviewer: Christine Wentz
I have read this book twice already, the second time because I wanted to have the fun I had the first time... Then I lent it to a friend and she loved it too. Brett's story will keep you thouroughly entertained, you laugh out loud and you'll also giggle... The part at the end when Liz mentions Goldie Hawn is a hoot because nobody can see it coming! Funny, intelligent, well plotted, awesome dialogue... are just a few of the reasons I give you to ask you to buy this book. Christine Wentz, Paralegal

Funny, entertaining, very good plot, well researched, and bloody witty! We all buy books and then, after a while, exchanged them or put them in a garage sale - well, this is for keeps! I don't lend mine because I want to keep it frech and clean, so buy your own and you'll never regret it. Natalie D'Alton, Toxicologist
