Eva M. Hoffmann
Edison,, New Jersey

While living in Berlin, Germany young Eva Hoffmann and her mother survived the horror of World War II and the terror Hitler brought upon his own people. In school she watched in stunned silence as the Third Reich systematically took over Germany, rewrote history, and brainwashed the innocent minds of Germany’s youth. But Eva had never truly been brainwashed the way her fellow students seemed to be. She always knew somewhere deep inside there was something dreadfully wrong. Even at the tender age of six she cried because she had to say “Heil Hitler” instead of the cordial “Guten Tag.” Life in the Third Reich did not agree with the innocent and young Eva.
