The Indaba Tree Odyssey chronicles the journey of three youngsters deep into the heart of Africa. Adventures abound and lasting friendships are forged as Congo, Megahni and Dan learn to survive in an alien world, while doing battle with various forces of evil. But perhaps their most valuable insights come from those they meet along the way. The pygmy boy Panya, who teaches them to love and respect the rainforest, Mama Dawa, an ancient medicine woman, and Chembe a gifted shaman, are among the many magical characters whose wisdom leave the children changed forever.

A combination of magic, fantasy, compelling characters and fabulous twists and turns in the plot make this book a truly marvellous read. Amma Jill's gift for detail, her ability to paint such beautiful pictures of Africa's rich and vibrant landscape, aswell as create a cast of characters that we can really care about are a recipe for the best in fiction writing. I can't wait for the odyssey to continue!
