One explanation could be that its reality has been downplayed by many in both religious and secular circles. In fact there are many in both the Catholic Church and many other Protestant affiliations who currently question the concept of Hell as taught to them in their formative years. Also, within the Jewish community the eternal nature of Hell is quite ambiguously understood and its eminent danger has not been properly emphasized or taught by most in authority. Overall one is lead to surmise that today most folks just don’t believe in Hell in the traditional sense. Therefore, the Devil has won a great victory and has been quite successful in masking that terrible place in which he plots to bring so many to be his victims of torment.”
