Abstract:
The Old Ball Ground, Volume Two, is the culmination of extensive research into the historic past of one of New England’s most recognized baseball towns. This volume completes the fascinating baseball journey through to the beginnings of the Second World War. Daniel L. Genovese, a Westfield Massachusetts native, has again painstakingly compiled and written of an important part of our past that has slowly faded away. Picking up where Volume One ended, Genovese takes the reader through the lives of a baseball-crazy town, only to see our National Pastime become nearly extinct at the outset of World War II.
