Summer Nights We have all night To stare out the window At the yellow, inconstant moon Which gleams and makes a cross In the dark, hazy sky.
Or to sit, lie, or stand. Just do nothing And stare into nothing And think; Think anything you want in the whole wide world.
Or to talk. To have the best conversations ever, Get every little thing off our chests, Being there for each other And to just have someone to care.
Or to listen. Close your eyes, open your ears Hear sounds that youll never Hear anywhere else Or at any other time.
Or to write. To beautifully transfer your thoughts From your mind through the tips Of your fingers, out of the pen, And onto the paper, to stay forever.
Or to feel. To have all your emotions
*** Henry IV I feel like a puppy vulnerable, helpless and scared lost in a sea of Shakespeare.
On Reading His Poetry words pin my heart to a bass-booming stereo and leave me to die of desire
words burrow in my brain and fill it until nothing else is on my mind except for what should have been said to me
Vespertine I envy Artemis in all her strength to cast off whomever she chooses and bathe naked without shame.
I am Aphrodite -weak as the wrists of begonias, always hungry, and constantly scrutinizing the mirror.
I am intense like the heat of day but I long to be vespertine. *** Portal to Before Open a window to the outskirts Of the galaxy, where the pulsars pulse And the black holes swallow light. Into that parallel universe youll travel Where the stigmata is a daily sickness And blind faith doesnt exist. Ancient Grecian warfare purges on The phalanx ploughs through the Persian infantry. Brute men slaughter wild beasts So that they can live to see harsher days. Candlelight holds true to men Throughout the darkest of the nights. Subterranean warlords conquer the barbaric lands With axes, bows and arrows in their hands. Going back to older days of myth The Satyr sings his sappy song, The Pegasus flaps its wings, The centaur gallops far and long And to his labyrinth the Minotaur clings. Back to ages far before To the stomping, monstrous dinosaur. Carnivorous creatures that savor blood And Herbivores that crunch on conifers. Volcanic ashes spew high Clouds of ash blanket the sky. A flaming meteor plummets toward the Earth And trembles the land with its impact. A spark of light, the prism shatters And back into the churning portal you will go. Back into the massive black hole: portal to before. Take the trip back to our world. Fly through the flaming atmosphere Youll see the children down below They play jump rope jacks and other games. The old grandparents look on with concern
