Excerpt
The following is an excerpt from, Through the Eyes of a Fisherman.
I walked the road where Jesus walked, And stood beside Him while He taught. I saw Him heal the deaf and dumb, And then I knew the Christ had come.
He called me out to follow Him, He told me He would conquer sin. He said, Ive come to die for you, To die for John and Andrew too.
I loved this man from Galilee, I said, please Lord depend on me. But even then my Lord still knew, About the deed that I would do.
Then came that night, that awful night, When as I trembled in my fright. I stood and cried, Hes not my friend, And then I knew it was the end.
Have you ever let someone down? Have you ever failed a friend and wondered if they would forgive. The Apostle Peter pledged his love and his life to Jesus Christ, even going so far as to say that although the other eleven Disciples would fail Him, he would not. But we know that he did, even going so far as to deny he even knew Him. Read this poem and learn about the wonderful truth of Gods grace and what it means to be forgiven and restored. Following his encounter with the risen Christ, Peter went on to become one of the men who turned the world upside down. Peter was a man who boasted too much and prayed too little. When he should have been watching and praying, Jesus found him sleeping.
