The guests were drifting away from the buffet table and finding their partners for the last dance. Butch heard a slight tapping on the side door and since Wally and Gert were back in the kitchen, he hurried down the hall. He opened the door and shivered as the blast of late winter air that swept in. The person at the door thrust an envelope into Butchs hand, whispered in a hoarse raspy voice, Give this to Priscilla Anderson at once, and disappeared into the night.
Puzzled, Butch turned the envelope over in his hands and started for the ballroom. At that moment, Priscilla appeared in the doorway. She murmured, Butch. Youre just the one I want to see. Will you please see that there is someone in the foyer to hand out the guests coats and hats?
Yes, maam. But first, someone delivered this letter to your door and asked that I give it to you right away.
Oh? Well, let me see it.
Priscilla slipped the note from the envelope and read it hastily. A puzzled look crossed her face and she read the note again. She wondered if she should ask Weston about it but she had seen him with his parents andwell, Ill just grab a wrap, step outside and see what this is all about.
