Virtual Reality
The body is an extension of the spirit, making it possible to perceive the physical plane. Have you ever imagined what it would be like to play a video game that seemed so real that you thought you were actually in the game itself, participating with other players all playing the game at the same time? Imagine yourself and others in a room wearing a suit that mimics your every move. Transferring the movements to a computer generated likeness of you. A visor covering your eyes depicts a virtual world you and the others have created in conjunction with one another. According to the choices you and the other players make, the computer sends sensation to your suit and visor for you to experience. Every possible choice that any of you make has been recorded. No matter what one chooses it will blend with all other choices to create a virtual reality. Imagine upon entering the virtual world everyone loses his or her memory. If you were to look in a computer-generated mirror at yourself you might think this is all that you are. From this perspective all that you can perceive is an illusion. But since you know of no other reality you believe the illusion to be real. After experiencing many adventures you become tired of playing the game and begin to slow down the inputs from and to the computer. As you clear your mind of all the chatter of the virtual world you hear the sounds of other people in the room with you playing the game. All of the sudden it dawns on you that there is more to reality than what is perceived from the sensors in the suit. In your excitement of discovering this you go back into the virtual world to tell the others, but they will not believe you. Not knowing of anything but the virtual world they reject your enthusiasm and joy. Though you tell them there is a much bigger reality beyond their sensors, they are unable to come to a place they know not of. You tell them if you will just quite youre outside senses and go within yourselves you will know who you truly are. Your already there, all that is required is to know this. Oh if I only could get them to understand they are more than their bodies, what great joy they would know.
I tell you this story of the virtual world so you to might realize you are more than your body. Becoming aware of this does not mean you give up your body, quite the contrary, with this new knowing you can now make choices through which the body, mind and spirit can all enjoy.
Choices
Your body is a temple,But only if you treat it as one. -Astrid Alauda
Spirit takes on the shape of the physical body to have a way in which to experience the physical. Though spirit cannot be hurt in anyway, the body can because it is subject to the laws of physical universe. Choices you make or fail to make on the bodies behalf determine its well-being.
Some of the choices we make are very destructive to the body itself. The choice not to properly exercise the body leads to a multitude of problems, especially the longer you neglect it. Anything that is not given attention withers away. To justify this you label it normal, do to aging, damning yourself to suffer. If that isnt bad enough toxic chemicals are induced into the body day after day without let up. Then the body is attacked from within with all kinds of negative emotions. Yes, the body is biological wonder. Its a wonder that it survives as long as it does. It never fails to amaze me how many different ways people find to abuse their bodies. Like sticking pins in a paper cup after a while it becomes a sifter, being of very little use for what it was intended for. If you would like to keep a healthy body or at least stop the deterioration, educate yourself on what it takes to do that. Then do it or dont. The choice is yours and so is the effect.
