In order to study the socialism easily and conveniently, it may simply be classified as two different socialisms. The first one is called the Infancy Socialism. It began in 1917, up to that point when major currently developed countries turn to socialism. The second one is called the Orthodox Socialism; it will start when major developed countries turn to socialism, up to the time communism starts. Using infancy, because they deserve this term from any respect and by any standard.
A. No matter how many other countries will come into the current socialist camp, they are from non-developed capitalist countries.
B. Since they pioneered socialism, so they have no experience of other countries for reference: the Soviet Union- one socialist country; and China-came from a semi-feudalistic and semi-colonial country.
C. Their practices enriched and developed Marxism; yet did not quite fit the original Marxism.
D. Developing production and self-survival are their main work, quite different from the Orthodox countries.
E. There is no such problem as to whether Marxism is out of date. The time to test Marxism is still yet to come when currently developed countries turn to socialism.
F. Their experiences will be useful mainly for the Third World countries; their failures and sacrifices are treasures for the human race.
G. For the majority, their striving is still for a meal to eat and a roof over their head. Their material life cannot compete with that in the developed countries, yet their spiritual life and morality are high. Actually, there is no necessity to compete with such living standards, as recent theory for mankind to survive is to limit their food intake and restrict the daily calories. Otherwise people are being fed with all kinds of sugar to satisfy their greediness. Their bodies are being reshaped inside and outside, visibly and invisibly to such a degree that most of them are not normal persons any more; they have some kind of modern diseases. The abundant food supply now is turning into its opposite.
H. They must introduce the mechanism of competition to speed up original Marxism.
Do not cut the “tail of capitalism”. It is important that the national capitalists be included in the working class. Give individuals more room to play in creating small businesses. Each country will have an adequate ratio between state ownership and private ownership. It is the art of leadership that counts. They must expect to have some degree of suffering from the side effects of using the capitalist mechanism. This so happens, because objective laws dominate: imbalance and abnormality are absolute; balanced development and normality are relative. As long as currently developed countries have not been turned to socialism, the infancy socialist countries are always in this time frame. After the existing of orthodox socialist countries, these infant socialist countries will emerge into the orthodox countries, making adjustments and going forward; in the mean time helping the third world countries to speed up their advancement to socialism.
