In the blink of an eye Bret baker pulled the car around to the front of the store between Jimmy and the bloods. Paul jumped out of the front seat and walked around to the other side of the car where Jimmy was standing with Gary. Bret jumped out the driver’s side door and slammed the door shut. Nikki went to get out of the back seat, but Jimmy shut the door as fast as she could open it.
“Stay in the fuckin car,” Jimmy yelled and then turned back to Gary.
“Hold this,” Jimmy said as handed his pistol to Gary.
“You still got that thing,” said Gary.
“Just hold it, and keep an eye on Nikki,” said Jimmy.
Like always Nikki Ignored Jimmy and slid across the back seat to escape through the other door.
Meanwhile, Bret reached inside the trunk of his car and grabbed two aluminum baseball bats. He handed one to Paul and hoisted the other over his right shoulder. Bret played college ball so it wasn’t unusual for him to keep his gear handy.
“Let’s do this, bitch,” Jermaine yelled as he drew closer.
“Come on mutherfucker bring the pain, one on one, you and me,” Jimmy yelled back as he walked anxiously around the car with Bret and Paul at his side door and his arms spread apart inviting the confrontation.
As the "bloods" approached the crew they started to fan out in a circle as they methodically planned for a showdown.
Not long after Nikki noticed Jermaine and his followers loitering in the area she new there was going to be trouble if they saw Jimmy. So by the time Jimmy walked out of the kiwi-mart she was already on the phone to an old friend. Nikki dialed Chris Capone and hoped he would pick up his cellular phone.
Bret and Paul rushed in suddenly with the bats cocked back ready to strike the first blow. The "bloods" were all unarmed so they retreated quickly. One of those dips hits hightailed It out of their so fast that he tripped over his own two feet. Bret capitalized on the assholes mistake and kicked him right in the ass as he got up to run away.
Three other guys tried to entrap Paul and flank him after he got separated from the rest of the crew. They drew him further away and quickly circled him. Paul took a big swing and just missed one of them as he tried to creep up on his right and than quickly turned to defend against the guy on his left. He didn’t even see it coming when the guy behind him snuck up and cracked a beer bottle over the side door of his head. Paul stumbled and tried to stay on his feet, but he fell to his knees. Before Paul could get up the bloods pounced on him, punching and kicking him as he keeled over on his hands and knees. Paul still had the baseball bat gripped tightly in his right hand when one of them tried to mussel It from has grasp. Paul reinforced his grip by grabbing It with his other hand, but It was slipping through his fingers. As Paul was about to release his hold on the bat and cover up in fear of a fatal head shot from a 40 ounce slugger, Jimmy came running to the rescue at full throttle. Jimmy lunged toward the blood with a powerful front kick directly into the middle attacker's chest. The kick knocked the wind out of him and put the punk flat on his back about ten feet from where he was standing. The bat rolled free from the fight and came to a stop near Bret’s feet as he was approaching the battle. Bret reached down with his left hand and in one motion grabbed the bat and tossed it Jimmy.
Jimmy and Bret stood by defending against an ambush while Nikki and Gary helped get Paul to his feet. By the time they got Paul standing upright, they were surrounded by the blood thirsty “Family“. The crew held their ground like a pride of lions protecting their cubs from a pack of starving hyenas.
“Family” could smell the blood in the air, Paul’s blood, and they wanted more!
