William was reading the paper as he did every morning while drinking coffee and eating breakfast. His blood began to boil when he came across a picture of Richard Marks III with his wife and two children. He read the article which fueled his hatred as it detailed the Marks family history and the corporation Richard now controlled. The article described his children in detail stating how smart his son was and how they expected he would follow in his father’s foot steps, taking over the company when he was old enough. His anger was overwhelming as he continued to read the article and looked again at the picture of Richard’s arrogant and pompous expression. “How dare he look proud of himself while denying Toby even existed?”
Rage coursed through his veins at the memory of what Richard had done to his young, innocent sister. He had seduced her, leaving her pregnant to fend for herself and her new born son. He had gone to great measure to avoid responsibility for either one of them using his power and money to avoid the authority of the courts that would have otherwise ordered his financial assistance.
His sister, Sarah, had been forced to drop out of college and work full time right up until she went into labor. His nephew, Toby, was born healthy however Sarah had suffered hemorrhaging directly after his birth. William had stood by and watched as his sister turned grayish white, moaning with pain. The nurses had taken the baby and ushered him out of the hospital room so they could attend to the unexpected emergency.
Sarah spent several extra days in the hospital trying to regain her strength after losing a dangerous amount of blood. The doctor had suspected the complications were caused by her being forced to work long hours on her feet late into her pregnancy. William had vowed that day he would pay back Richard Marks III for what he had done to his sister. William helped Sarah as much as possible as he finished college while working as much as he could.
After graduation he decided to change his name from Blake to Moore to avoid any possible interference from Richard Marks when he began his work in the business world. After tangling with Richard in the courts, he knew if they crossed paths in business Richard would make things very difficult for him. He was determined to make a good life for Sarah, his nephew and himself after having to struggle for so long.
Shortly after beginning his new career, he had some risky investment opportunities come his way that had fortunately paid off big. Having a knack for business investing, it was not long before he was living comfortably, constantly adding to his new found wealth. As soon as he was able he had bought his first home insisting that Sarah and Toby move in with him. They lived together ever since becoming closer than ever as they shared the daily responsibilities required in caring for Toby.
William read the article that ended with an announcement that Richard’s younger sister, Elizabeth, was about to graduate from a prominent boarding school. He looked at the picture thinking she was very attractive and didn’t look at all like her brother, having auburn hair with fair skin while Richard had darker skin with brown hair. William had been unaware that Richard had a sister and after reading the announcement of her impending graduation, realized the opportunity for revenge that he’d been waiting for all these years had just knocked on his door.
