Prior to the tragic death of Marsha Stone, an intensive care nurse at Cambridge Memorial hospital, patients were victims of murder, her victims. She was an evil psychopathic jealous nurse out to destroy her friend Susan Brice Morgan’s “perfect nurse” reputation for the return of her lover Trace Gordon. It was Susan’s gift of Aura, she and others escaped Marsha’s hands of death.
Police officials and employees at Cambridge Memorial hospital claim Marsha’s death was accidental, but Marsha’s sister Katherine feels differently and immediately flies from L.A. to Boston to check things out. What Susan and Trace don’t know is Katherine’s visit to Boston is to avenge her sister’s death. Katherine’s intent is to permanently prevent Trace from marrying anyone, since he didn’t marry her sister.
Trace Gordon, a young promising surgeon asks Susan, now nurse manager at the hospital, to marry him. Susan and Trace have had a fairytale romance as far back as their student days. The one mistake Trace made was the fling he had with Marsha during his break-up with Susan. Trace didn’t anticipate Marsha’s obsession to evolve into psychotic behavior. A mistake he may pay for with his life.
On Susan and Trace’s wedding day, Trace drops to the ground and slips into a coma. No one knows what happened; even the doctors are stumped and gravely concerned. It looks hopeless.
Victoria Brice, Susan’s grandmother, comes from generations of wealth and power. Victoria remembered the similarity with Trace’s coma, and the story her grandmother told her of a young boy falling victim to a sleep spell. The young boy fell asleep and never woke up. Victoria knew this wasn’t a coincidence, but unfortunately she is very ill, and her powers are compromised. It will take intense concentration, all her power and inner strength to save her only granddaughter’s future husband.
Susan finds the infamous Brice diary while exploring the attic at her mother’s house. The same diary her grandmother said contained stories and entries from long ago. As Susan turns its magical pages, she’s pulled back in time to 1731 and discovers the family craft originated not only with her ancestors but with Marsha’s ancestors too. It’s here that Susan met her great, great, Grandmother, Abigail and great, great, Grandfather, Captain Nicoli. Susan read the inserts of the diary and smiled when the words revealed how Abigail and Nicoli met and how their love evolved. She found it interesting reading about the simple pleasures of the day in and day out of their lives. The diary also shared stories of evil and desperation and the consequences that followed. Susan’s amazed at how the diary reads much like her own life; the innocence of love, and victims of terror. As she turned the pages with intrigue she’s startled with a presence from the past and it all begins to make sense. Susan learned that Marsha’s ancestors lived in the same village as her ancestors. It seemed it wasn’t a coincidence that the Brice and Croft family clashed, it was history repeating itself.
In 1731 the time came when Captain Nicoli must save his family and future by revealing a well kept secret previously unknown to anyone except for his father. The craft originated with Nicoli’s father and he taught Nicoli all he knew. Nicoli had promised his father to use the power of the craft only if his life depended on it. That day came, and Nicoli was faced with stopping his best friend’s reckless wicked sister Rebecca from further killings, save the power of the craft, and the future of the family. Rebecca realized she was up against immeasurable power and played on her brother’s weakness for help.
