Chapter 4 We, as God’s sons and daughters must crucify our flesh daily as Paul did in Galatians 2:20, or our flesh will crucify us. Following your fleshly desires without some kind of self-control will eventually destroy you physically, emotionally, and perhaps even mentally. There is something in the flesh that cries out to be fed and to be satisfied. The human drive or desire is tremendously strong and powerful at times. And if we are not extremely careful and disciplined we will answer the call. We will give the flesh what it wants and craves because flesh is pitifully weak and doesn’t have control over itself. At times, that inner yearning is so strong and demanding you will do anything to acquire what you “think” and “feel” you need in order to satisfy that hunger. The more you get, the more you want, the more you want, the more you need, the more you need, the more desperate you become, and the more desperate you become the more likely you will do whatever it takes to satisfy that drive or crave in the flesh. Being desperate is an unhealthy state to be in, because not only are you feeling over anxious about your situation, you also feel helpless and hopeless at times. So instead of feeding and satisfying our fleshly yearning, desires or appetites, we need to kill them! Crucify them! For most of us, killing our fleshly desires and appetites is a hard thing to do. But, our mind must control our flesh. To do this, we must stop answering when flesh calls. We must stop feeding our flesh everything it wants and cries for. We must fight, and we must fight with our might, starving the flesh so it can die. If we stop feeding a thing, it will die. If we continue to feed a thing, it will live. You begin crucifying the flesh by starving the flesh. At first, you may think you are going to die physically or lose your mind, but you won’t: As a result, God will come more alive in you. Hallelujah!
Chapter 5 Now, let us take a serious look at the words “womb” and “mind” in the following contexts. A baby is well protected inside the womb of its mother–inside the embryonic sac just as the mind/brain is also well protected inside the head/skull of the human being. Just as babies are conceived in the womb, thoughts are conceived in the mind. And just as babies form and grow inside the mother’s womb before they are born for others to see: In the same manner, thoughts form and grow inside the human mind before they are manifested—becoming visible acts for others to see. Before we can physically see a thing manifested in the open, it is first formed inside of something or it is hidden out of sight. In this case, that something is the “womb” or the “mind.” In other words, a product of work first begins or takes place behind the scenes. For example, once the sperm has been planted in the womb, conception takes place, but you can’t tell at first from looking at the mother stomach with your physical eyes. Only after a certain period of time has passed, a baby is born. You can then see what was forming inside the mother’s womb, behind the scene. The same is true with a thought that has been planted, or conceived in the human mind. You can’t tell what thoughts are inside a person mind just from looking at them. Only after a period of time has passed, thoughts bring forth visible actions. You can then see what was forming behind the scene, inside that individual’s mind, whether it is good or bad. If a person allows the thought of adultery to enter and linger too long in his or her mind, the thought will make its way to the heart and eventually the person will take action on that thought, committing adultery. Generally speaking, this is basically the process with any sin, or any good deed for that matter: It first must begin internally, in the mind, with the thought. You need to know, allowing sinful thoughts to linger in the heart or mind is a dangerous thing; and following wrong thoughts will take you further than you plan to go and keep you longer than you are willing to stay. ….
Chapter 19 After those dreams and the deep feelings they invoked, I could no longer ignore God. I got down on my knees and I prayed like I never prayed before, for I was afraid where my soul might end up. Today, I can testify like King Neduchadnezzar. I praise and glorify God Who I know is in heaven ruling over the affairs of men; He is the Judge of all whose act is right and good, for He is able to do with us as He please when we walk in pride, or disobedience. Brothers and sisters, right here and now! I would just like to say with emphasis, too know that you are living in a sinful state before the true and living God is a very grave and dangerous thing, but to ignore or not heed His warning concerning a matter is a serious and dreadfully dangerous thing. And even worse, you are flirting with Hell Big Time! I would also like to say, if you have been putting off doing what you know is right in your heart to do don’t put it off any longer. Tomorrow is not promised to you and you really don’t want to fight with God. You do not want to provoke God’s wrath upon you–for He will surely make us pay for the wrong you do–sooner or later. Yes, God is loving and kind, but that don’t stop Him from chastening you for the wrong you do! Remember, He is also a just and fair God, and have no respect of person. No one on earth wants to live in a state of tormented, misery and without peace, but when you choose to be disobedient, that is how God will let you live. God only let you live with the choice you make. …
