INTRODUCTION
I’m writing this book for two reasons:
Reason 1: I read…
Psalm 71:18
“Now, also, when I am old and grey headed, O God, do not forsake me, until I declare your strength to this generation, your power to everyone who is to come.”
I felt I had not accomplished all this verse required me to do.
Reason 2: I read…
Romans 1:14
“I am a debtor, both to the Greeks and Barbarians. Both to wise and unwise.”
This tells me I am a debtor; I have a debt to pay. I have an obligation and a command from God to tell everyone about the “good news” of Christ. The title of this book is JOURNEY, Why You Should Take the Narrow Road. Your journey began the day you were born and it will end when you reach the land of promise, Heaven. Yes, the gates of Heaven should be your destination. However, not everyone will reach the gates of Heaven. Let’s find out why.
The purpose of this book then, is to assist you along the often-troubled, twisted and rocky road to the promised destination. I hope to detail troubles all of us will encounter along life’s way and answer some of our most compelling questions. It is unfortunate that many will make a wrong turn, take the wrong road along the way, or try a shortcut. One thing is for sure, there is no turning back.
The Bible tells us about two main gates and two main roads:
Matthew 7:13-14
“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
There is a wide gate and a wide road, a narrow gate, and a narrow road. The wide way is much easier to travel; it looks inviting, exciting, and easy, and many will take this wide, easy road. This easy road will lead to destruction! The narrow way is difficult and the Bible says there will be few that will find the narrow road. The narrow road, however, leads to the Promised Land, Life. Sadly, not all will reach the gates of Heaven. This book will give directions to assist you to make your journey successful on your way to the gates of Heaven.
Revelation 22:14
“Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.”
