By noon there were still choppers in the sky and they were widening the search area slowly coming my way. Each hour I could hear the chopper coming closer and closer, it was time to find a good hiding spot where I could hold up for a couple of days. By evening they had widened their search area, they were covering one hell of a lot of territory and coming closer to me. They knew the flares meant something, so they were out in full force to find who set them off. As I was watching them, two choppers were headed my way. I found a small break in the rocks, just big enough for me to squeeze in. Within ten minutes they were in my area doing a crossover pattern. Twice they flew over me as they did the pattern again. It was tight in here, but this would be where I’d have to stay till dark. As the sun went down I moved out and went deeper into the mountains. The choppers were out all night, with their searchlights shinning all over the fuckin’ place. I wasn’t able to get out of the area because of them. As the sun came up, I moved to one of the ledges and checked them out with my field glasses. They were dropping off troops from troop transports all over the place, shit this is going to be a tight one. I looked around and there must have been at least thirty choppers dropping soldiers all over the place, not just in my area.
It looked like they were not holding anything back, searching for me. I started to head deeper into the mountains, hoping to lose them. There was no place to hide, every time a chopper came near me I ducked for cover. I was moving around one ledge and just as I was about to drop down to the lower one, a chopper came over the ridge. I dropped to the ground behind some rocks and just lay there, hoping they didn’t see me. As they flew by me, I quickly got up and moved into a crevice in the rocks and stayed there. I heard them come back and hover for a minute, and then moved slowly along the ridge. They had spotted me.
