Whether it is with my kids, my dog, or someone behind me in a check out line, I don’t want to hear Whining. Whining is sniveling. None of it is pretty and we don’t have enough days on this planet to waste time doing it. There certainly isn’t any room for Whining when it comes to Wine. If so, then they would call the place where Wine is made a Whinery. Wine should not be too difficult for anyone or be part of your worries. Okay, you can throw in some appreciation, expression, evaluation, and responsibility for good measure if you choose. But when you are alone in your favorite chair at night…Wine is all about your personal enjoyment.
Fussing about the finer aspects of wine will always be appropriate in certain circles, but I am pleading with you to take the “h” out of Whine and make it a beautiful Wine whenever you open a bottle. If a selection isn’t what you expected or tastes differently than the last time, move on, don’t Whine. If the price goes up on your favorite Cabernet Sauvignon, don’t Whine, loosen the purse strings or try something else. Whine about the nightly news or your bills, Wine should be fun.
……… When you least expect it, the urge to Whine challenges your better judgment. The simplest things can push you over the edge into a full fledged tirade of vocal annoyance. Two things that should never go together are Wine and Whining. Let Don’t Wine About That take you on a causal tour of things NOT to do in your daily walk with wine enjoyment, and hopefully you will be able to keep your Whining to a minimum. ………
