Introduction
Let me introduce myself. My name is Yvonne Marie Williams, better known as Vonnie. This book of testimonies is inspired by the Holy Spirit and the Sweet Grace of God. It feels good to know that the Lord has worked with me at a young age. Now my life can begin. For so long I felt dead and alone, not really knowing where I stood in life, but I have found that I am special to my Father. I am not an extraordinary human being, but I am someone in God. I hope that each and every reader, young and mature, will find that inner peace with our Lord, our God. I pray that after sharing my experiences with life and God, your hearts and spirits will receive any message that the Lord is trying to give to you.
To my young readers, know that the Lord is waiting with open arms for you. The sooner you realize that you need Him and receive Him into your life, the sooner it will begin. To those who think of God as a foreign language, let me define who He is from a scriptural background. May you seek understanding with further research of your own from the Bible and through prayer. God is the One who created the Heavens and the Earth and all that dwells therein (according to the Bible, Book of Genesis, Chapter 1).
The enemy is everything contrary to the Lord, God of Hosts. The enemy is a liar, a deceiver and a beast. "And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him." (Revelation 12:9)
During these years of my young life, I have come to the realization that it is because of God's sweet grace and tender mercy that I have made it this far. "Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;" (Ephesians 2:5)
This is not a book of condemnation or one of judgment, but a series of confessions to cleanse the soul. "Confess your faults one to another, ... that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much." (James 5:16) "Who shall lay anything to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us." (Romans 8:33, 34)
Once again, I say that this is a book of honest testimony in my life. Some of the stories that you will read may not be as detailed as other stories I write. Due to the depth of certain issues, if I were to share details of certain situations, it would cause a tremendous amount of confusion. This book is not intended to hurt anyone, especially my family and loved ones. It is intended to help someone and to show that no matter what situation you may be trapped in, God will grab your hands and pull you out if you want Him to.
This book has become a two-way street for me; it is a great healing process of wounds that had been covered with Band-Aids yet never truly healed. God has allowed me, through my writing, to take the bandages off so that I may be healed from the inside out. At the same time, I am able to give my King His reverence that He so much deserves, and glorify Him to others so that they may join me in praising our Father.
I hereby open my book of true confessions, but not in fear because I have been forgiven by the Lord, my Father. Each chapter has a scripture to ensure things that I have written. However, this is not a Bible book. Some chapters contain more scriptures than others. I pray that these readings be understood and accepted in the name of Jesus.
Amen.
