A Calling
In the life of every person there comes the time of a calling.
Most of us connect the calling as something beyond the touch of the ordinary person. We associate it with those who have achieved fame and prominence, never thinking for a moment that each of us in our own way is prominent, special and worthy of a calling.
But what happens is that we feel completely overwhelmed and overshadowed, therefore we generally fail to heed our calling. What we completely miss is the fact that we are not called by state of life, by profession or by any category, we are called as individuals.
Our calling may not be heroic or glamorous but it is as surely a personal call to greatness as there can ever be.
We have to recognize that our calling is to face the daily struggle of life. This is a difficult task at best but it need not be the burden most of us make it to be.
We as individuals have the capacity to shoulder a great deal of this daily life once we see it and accept it as our calling. Once this takes place then it becomes easier to make change happen in our lives and in the lives of those whom we come in contact with and can influence.
And think then what a great feeling to know that each day thereafter will truly be a new and special calling for us.
Attitudes
So often in the human experience we allow ourselves to be guided by our attitudes. These feelings toward people take hold of our whole being and form a way of life for us.
These attitudes seize control over our true emotions and create a false set of values, an artificial way of living. We find ourselves becoming influenced by outside sources and Our attitudes become even more foreign to our true feel.
Then we discover that control of every emotion has been taken away by our attitudes toward most everything. We are no longer capable of honest judgements about anything or anybody because old attitudes distort their true worth and others influence our ability to freely judge and set vales. Before long our life is totally guided by forces over which we have little or no control.
This struggle against old and harmful attitudes is not an easy battle but it can be won by using our own good sense of judgement. By not being afraid to trust our own ability to set values and act in accordance with them. It is only a matter of truly wanting to do so.
Think how free you will be once you let go and approach each minute of each day with new attitudes of your own. To be released of the burden of being locked up by old ghosts and fears. To be free of manipulation by others.
You can be your own person - Try it; you'll like it!
Conformity
How often we fall into the trap of conformity, most often simply because we need acceptance.
So willing are we to discard what we know may be the better or more proper course of action because it is so much easier to go along with the crowd. How trapped we can become to sacrifice our own sense of doing what's right because the larger groups offers refuge and security.
We have all seen bad events take place, imperfect leaders chosen and other negative events occur for the simple reason that it was easier to conform than to take a stand or resist.
Be true to yourself and stand firm in your own beliefs and causes. Never conform to the standards or desires of others simply for convenience or acceptance. Be your own person!
